My approach to counselling is Integrative supported by a Humanistic psychology. Integrative is where several distinct models of counselling are used together, this allows me to draw upon a variety of counselling approaches to create a unique therapy to suit your individual needs.
The Humanistic psychology places emphasis on your individual capacity for self determination and although recognising past problems will encourage you to recognise your ability to make choices that can positively affect your wellbeing both in the present and the future, therefore, my approach to therapy focuses on your strengths as an individual which with support will enable you to recognise your ability to make these choices. I will encourage you to explore your feelings and take responsibility for your thoughts and actions.
